The lure lets you control its action. The fin can be rotated 360 degrees. This allows you to make it:
1) dive - lower fin is forward of upper fin.
2) skip - or walk on surface, fin is forward of lower fin
3) chugged - fin is straight up and down.
By experimenting with the fin, you can make this lure do whatever you want.
In addition, some fishermen wish to use heavier hooks when fishing offshore. The hook can be snapped off its clip and a heavier hook snapped in. Or heavy mono or steel leader may be passed through the body and tied directly to the hook, eliminating the need for the wire clip. Remember - this lure looks like a fish and sits in the water like a fish - so leave the lure just sitting on the surface for short periods. It is not necessary to work the lure to death.
